Tennessee football landed its first transfer of the offseason on Wednesday morning when Arizona offensive guard Wendell Moe Jr. committed and signing with the Vols, On3’s Pete Nakos first reported.
A two-year starter primarily at left guard while at Arizona, Moe committed to Tennessee over Auburn after taking visits to both schools over the weekend.
The 6-foot-2, 339-pound offensive guard started all 25 games for Arizona after the last two seasons with most coming at left guard but a few coming at right guard this season as the Wildcats battled injuries. Moe has allowed just one career sack in 1,111 pass block snaps.
Over the last two seasons, Moe played 1,624 snaps and earned a 67.4 PFF grade this past season after earning a 68.5 PFF grade in 2023. According to PFF, Moe is an elite pass blocker from the guard position (88.3 grade in 2024) and an average run blocker (60.1).
Moe’s strong play during the 2023 season was good enough for him to earn Second Team All-Pac 12 honors that year before the Wildcats moved to the Big 12 for his redshirt sophomore season.

247sports ranks Moe as a three-star transfer and the No. 143 player and No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the transfer portal in the 2025 cycle. On3 ranks Moe as the No. 63 player and No. 5 interior offensive lineman in the portal.
Landing Moe is a major win for Tennessee in the transfer portal due to the Vols’ need in the interior of the offensive line. Tennessee loses starting center Cooper Mays and right guard Javontez Spraggins after the 2024 season. Starting left guard Andrej Karic is also out of eligibility but is currently appealing to the NCAA for one extra year of eligibility.
If Karic receives one more year of eligibility, one of he and Moe would have to move from left guard to right guard for the 2025 season. Tennessee also loses right tackles Dayne Davis and John Campbell while returning left tackle Lance Heard.
Even with Moe in the fold, Tennessee will likely add at least one more offensive lineman in the portal this offseason as they look to add depth and competition ahead of the 2025 season.
Moe is Tennessee’s first commit in the transfer portal so far this offseason. The Vols have lost eight scholarship players to the portal at this point with one of them being an offensive lineman. Stay up to date with all Tennessee football transfer news with the RTI transfer tracker here.
