Tennessee football received a prediction to land Arizona offensive guard transfer Wendell Moe Jr. on Tuesday morning shortly following his weekend visit to Knoxville.
On3’s Pete Nakos put in an expert prediction for Moe to land at Tennessee with a 70% confidence level on Tuesday morning as the Vols look to bolster their offensive line headed into the 2025 season.
Moe just wrapped up his redshirt sophomore season at Arizona and has two years of eligibility remaining as he looks for a school to conclude his college career. The 6-foot-2, 239-pound offensive guard started all 25 games for Arizona after the last two seasons with most coming at left guard but a few coming at right guard this season as the Wildcats battled injuries.
Over the last two seasons, Moe played 1,624 snaps and earned a 67.4 PFF grade this past season after earning a 68.5 PFF grade in 2023. According to PFF, Moe is an elite pass blocker from the guard position (88.3 grade in 2024) and an average run blocker (60.1).
Moe’s strong play during the 2023 season was good enough for him to earn Second Team All-Pac 12 honors that year before the Wildcats moved to the Big 12 for his redshirt sophomore season.
247sports ranks Moe as a three-star transfer and the No. 143 player and No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the transfer portal in the 2025 cycle.
More From RTI: Which Vols Did And Didn’t Practice On Tuesday In Preparation For Ohio State
There is a small connected with Moe to Tennessee. The transfer guard is a Long Beach, California native like Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava. The two did play at different high schools and were a year apart in school.
Tennessee is in need of offensive linemen in the transfer portal and particularly on the interior of the line where they definitively lose center Cooper Mays and right guard Javontez Spraggins. Left guard Andrej Karic is out of eligibility but did not go through Senior Day and is currently applying for one more year of eligibility due to injuries he suffered throughout the 2023 season.
The Vols will look to add multiple offensive linemen in the transfer portal this offseason since they lose four of their five starting offensive linemen to graduation. Former LSU offensive tackle transfer Lance Heard is back and Tennessee adds five-star offensive tackle David Sanders who could start as a true freshman.
Tennessee has yet to add a player in the transfer portal to date while they’ve lost eight different scholarship players including two contributors on its 2024 team. Stay up to date with all Tennessee football transfer news with the RTI transfer tracker here.
