For the first time since August, Tennessee football practice was open to the media on Tuesday morning as the Vols prepare to face Ohio State in the College Football Playoffs this Saturday.
It was not a long portion of practice open to the media, about 10 minutes in total. The media watched the team stretch and go through their first drills in the Anderson Training Center before making their way outside on a warm December day.
But we did get to see which Vols were in red non contact uniforms and a few Tennessee players that were not participating in the early portions of practice.
Some important notes before we get into it. A large portion of the team was in black scout team uniforms with their corresponding Ohio State number on. That made it nearly impossible to figure out who the Tennessee players were.
Secondly, any Tennessee player that was working off to the side could have joined practice later on after the media left. Many players were just wearing sweatpants too indicating that there was likely little contact even for the players in normal uniforms.
With that, here’s what to know about the participation level of a number of Tennessee players on Tuesday.
