Tennessee reportedly lost a fourth wide receiver to the transfer portal on Thursday.
According to a report from On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett, Tennessee redshirt freshman wide receiver Nate Spillman plans to enter his name into the portal.

Spillman is Tennessee’s fourth portal entry from the wide receivers room this week alongside Kaleb Webb, Chas Nimrod, and Nathan Leacock.
Spillman, a Nashville native from Lipscomb Academy, appeared in four games this season for Tennessee including Chattanooga, NC State, Kent State, and UTEP, but did not record any statistics on the year.
Spillman is the older brother of Tennessee freshman linebacker Edwin Spillman, who battled injuries for a majority of his freshman season on Rocky Top but did see his name leave the injury report late in the season.
The 6-foot-3, 186-pound receiver will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Spillman was a three-star prospect in the class of 2023 and was ranked by 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings as the No. 209 wide receiver in the class and the No. 39 player from the state of Tennessee. Spillman was on campus for two seasons but never cracked the Vols’ on-field rotation of players.
With four young wide receivers all reportedly entering the transfer portal this week, Tennessee does lose a good bit of development from the wide receiver room. But it will also open up opportunities for other players to seize the moment in their departures.
Tennessee has had nine players either announce their portal intentions or have them reported on since the end of the regular season. The transfer portal opened up on Monday, Dec. 9, and will remain open until Dec. 28.
8-seed Ohio State will host 9-seed Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoffs on Saturday, Dec. 21, in Ohio Stadium. The game will take place at 8:00 p.m. ET.
