The 6-foot-3 receiver played at Tennessee for three seasons as a backup receiver for the Vols’ offense.
Webb caught six passes for 48 yards this season but didn’t quite get up to his numbers from 2023. Webb saw an increased role last season after wide receiver Bru McCoy suffered a season-ending injury, totaling 166 yards and one touchdown on 16 receptions. Webb’s best game last season was a four-catch, 38-yard showing against Missouri.
Webb earned a 62.7 season grade from Pro Football Focus on 99 snaps this season, which ranked him as the Vols’ fourth-highest receiver. Webb’s best game this season came against Chattanooga with 19 yards on two receptions. Webb also recorded one reception against NC State and Vanderbilt while hauling in two passes against Kent State.
Over his career, Webb logged 214 yards and one touchdown on 22 receptions with the Vols. Webb took a redshirt during his freshman season with the Vols in 2022.
Prior to his announcement on Friday afternoon, Webb was one of four Tennessee wide receivers in the transfer portal alongside Chas Nimrod, Nathan Leacock, and Nate Spillman. Webb is the first of the group and the first from Tennessee to announce a portal destination so far.
From McEachern High School in Powder Springs, GA, Webb committed to Tennessee as a four-star prospect in the class of 2022. 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings had Webb listed as the No. 310 player in the class, the No. 46 wide receiver, and the No. 28 player from the state of Georgia. Webb was Tennessee’s fourth-highest rated commit, second-highest rated offensive player, and the Vols’ top receiver prospect from the 2022 recruiting class.
Webb commits to a Wake Forest program that went 4-8 this past season under head coach Dave Clawson. The Deamon Deacons ranked 12th in the ACC in total offense last season with 371 yards per game.
