I went 2-1 on my Week 14 underdog selections, upping my ATS season record to 20-21-1. Ten of those 20 winners won the game outright.
NFL underdog picks for Week 15: Miami Dolphins (+3 bet365) at Houston Texans
Coinciding with Tua Tagovailoa’s return under center, the Dolphins have heated up, winning four of their last five to move a game within .500 at 6-7.
C.J. Stroud and the Texans (8-5), meanwhile, have a two-game lead atop the AFC South as they seek a second straight division title.
Houston, though, is 3-4 since its 5-1 start and only 3-5-2 ATS as a favorite this season.
The Texans are coming off the bye, but that strangely hasn’t been any kind of an advantage this season as teams are 11-15 SU and 9-17 ATS following a week of rest.
NFL underdog picks for Week 15: Jacksonville Jaguars (+3.5 BetMGM) vs. New York Jets
Both teams are 3-10 and are playing out the string in deeply disappointing seasons.
But their respective ATS records reveal a key difference as Aaron Rodgers’ Jets are 4-9 vs. the number, including 3-6 as a favorite, while the Jags are a respectable 7-5-1, including 6-2-1 as an underdog.
Yeah, Jacksonville is down to backup QB Mac Jones, but the Jags’ defense is still formidable, keeping foes out of the end zone in two of their last four games.
And in light of the ATS numbers above, getting a field goal and the hook at home with the Jags against arguably the league’s most underachieving team is too great of a value to pass up.
NFL underdog picks for Week 15: Pittsburgh Steelers (+5.5 FanDuel) at Philadelphia Eagles
The 10-3 Steelers enter the week with a two-game lead atop the AFC North, having won seven of their last eight games.
Pittsburgh has an ATS record to match and its 10-3 mark vs. the spread is tied with the Denver Broncos for the league’s best.
Philly, meanwhile, has been even hotter, reeling off nine straight wins to open up a three-game lead atop the NFC East at 11-2.
The Eagles are 8-5 ATS but only 5-5 against the number as a favorite this season.
That’s not promising with a Mike Tomlin team in town.
Since the Steelers’ current coach took over in 2007, Pittsburgh is a league-best 62-35-5 (.639) ATS as an underdog, including 5-0 so far this season.
The visitors also match up well with Saquon Barkley and Philly’s top-ranked rushing attack as they bring the league’s fourth-best run defense to the City of Brotherly Love.
This matchup of Keystone State heavyweights has all the makings of a great game — and most importantly here, a close game — so we’ll gladly accept the points with Tomlin and the visiting Steelers.
