Former Tennessee offensive lineman Addison Nichols is re-entering the transfer portal after just one year at Arkansas, he announced on social media Wednesday.
Nichols originally committed to Tennessee out of high school and spent two years with the Tennessee program as a reserve lineman before entering the portal after the 2023 season.
The Georgia native committed to Arkansas out of the portal and played with the Razorbacks for one season before announcing his intentions to re-enter the portal on Wednesday. Nichols’ Razorbacks defeated Tennessee 19-14 this past season in Fayetteville.
“After much prayer and thoughtful reflection, I have made the difficult decision to enter the transfer portal, with two years of eligibility remaining,” Nichols posted to social media. “This choice comes from a place of hope, and I genuinely believe it is the best path for my future. I am filled with anticipation for what God has in store for the next chapter of my journey.”

The 6-foot-5, 329-pounder center started all 12 games for Arkansas this past season.
Nichols had the second-best pass-block grade and third-best run-block grade of the starting Arkansas offensive lineman this past season according to Pro Football Focus. Nichols also did not allow a sack this season in his time on the field.
Nichols was a four-star prospect and one of Josh Heupel’s first big recruiting wins at Tennessee in the class of 2022. The Norcross, GA, native was ranked by 247 Sports Composite as the No. 143 player overall, the No. 6 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 15 player from the state of Georgia in the rankings.
