No. 1 Tennessee moved to 9-0 on the season with a 75-62 win over Miami (FL) in Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
The Vols took a 13-point lead into halftime and staved off a 9-0 run from the Hurricanes in the second half to capture the 13-point win. Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier scored a game-high 22 points including 11 of the Vols’ final 16 points to close out the contest.
With the win, Tennessee moves to 4-0 against ACC teams this season with wins over Louisville, Virginia, Syracuse, and Miami.
Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes and guard Zakai Zeigler met with the media after the game to discuss their thoughts on the win. Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier and forward Cade Phillips also spoke to the media on their own after the win.
