The College Football Playoff bracket officially releases on Sunday afternoon but before we got the official bracket, the penultimate AP Poll of the season released.
Tennessee fell one-spot from No. 6 to No. 7 in this week’s AP Poll following the weekend’s conference championship games. Ohio State jumped the Vols in the rankings going from No. 7 to No. 6 in the AP Poll.
The change was odd given that neither team played in their respective conference championship this past weekend. Tennessee (10-2, 6-2 SEC) jumped Ohio State (10-2, 7-2 Big 10) in the AP Poll a week prior after the Buckeyes lost to Michigan in their final game of the regular season.

However, Ohio State remained ahead of Tennessee in the College Football Playoff rankings which meant they held on to the final home game of the first round. If the latest AP Poll were the indicator, Tennessee would be the No. 9 seed in the playoffs and they would play at Ohio State in the first round.
With the current playoff system, here is how the AP Poll would seed the College Football Playoffs: 1. Oregon, 2. Georgia, 3. Boise State, 4. Arizona State, 5. Notre Dame, 6. Texas, 7. Penn State, 8. Ohio State, 9. Tennessee, 10. Indiana, 11. Alabama, 12. Clemson.

The f-ing committee had to give Ohio State a home game. What a farce.
The oddity becomes obvious when you realize that the switch gave the home field advantage to The Ohio State University. Politics?
