Tennessee receiver Bru McCoy is doubtful for the Vols’ matchup against Vanderbilt, the ABC broadcast shared in the first quarter.
McCoy has not missed a game all season and was not on Tennessee’s injury report all week. But ABC reported that his hamstring flared up during pregame warmups leading to him being doubtful.
The starting senior receiver did not play on either of Tennessee’s first two drives of the game with Dont’e Thornton replacing him in the starting lineup and Mike Matthews also getting some snaps on the second drive of the game in McCoy absence.

McCoy leads the Vols in receptions and is second in receiving yards this season, entering the regular season finale with 35 catches for 432 yards and two touchdowns so far this season. Both of those touchdowns came a week prior during Tennessee’s win over UTEP.
At the time of publication, Tennessee trails Vanderbilt 14-7 at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville. It was a disastrous start for Tennessee as Vanderbilt jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first five minutes. But the Vols’ offense responded on their second drive of the game, going 73 yards on just five plays.
