Four-star defensive lineman and Tennessee target Isaiah Campbell is announcing his college commitment on Dec. 4, the first day of the early signing period, Rivals Sam Spiegelman first reported. Campbell is deciding between a top group that include Clemson, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Campbell ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 37 player nationally according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound prospect ranks as the No. 5 defensive lineman and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The blue-chip recruit was committed to Clemson for nine months before de-committing from the Tigers back in September. Since his de-commitment, Campbell has taken recruiting visits to both North Carolina and Tennessee with his official visit to Knoxville coming the same weekend that the Vols defeated Alabama.
But with North Carolina firing Mack Brown earlier this week, the Tar Heels do not seem to be a viable option to land the blue-chip recruit at the moment. Campbell has not taken any visits to Clemson since de-committing though the Tigers have continued to recruit him.

The Vols have had plenty of success recruiting the Tar Heel State under Josh Heupel and with the early signing date rapidly approaching, all eyes are on North Carolina. Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders, Tennessee’s top commit, is a serious flip threat after visiting Ohio State last weekend.
Sanders, a Charlotte native, is the top player in the state of North Carolina in the 2025 recruiting cycle while Campbell, a Durham native, is the No. 2 player in the state.
The Vols are fighting to hold on to a number of there top recruits with SEC foes trying to poach four-star receiver Travis Smith (Georgia), four-star linebacker Christian Gass (Georgia), four-star safety Lagonza Hayward, four-star corner Onis Konanbanny (Florida) and three-star defensive lineman Darrion Smith (Auburn).
Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 25 commitments and from four defensive linemen including from four-stars Mariyon Dye, Ethan Utley and Charles House as well as three-star Darrion Smith. The Vols 2025 recruiting class currently ranks No. 7 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
