Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes and guard Chaz Lanier met with the media in Knoxville on Tuesday afternoon as the Vols prepare for a Wednesday afternoon game against UT Martin in the Food City Center before Thanksgiving.
The Vols return to Knoxville as the champions of the Baha Mar Tournament as Tennessee defeated Virginia and No. 13 Baylor in back-to-back days last week in the Bahamas.
Lanier was named tournament MVP after putting up 26 points against the Cavaliers and 25 points against the Bears across the two-day stretch.
The other big news out of Knoxville isn’t as good, though. Tennessee sophomore forward JP Estrella announced on Monday that he will miss the remainder of the 2024-2025 season due to an upcoming surgery to address a lingering injury with his left foot.
