The Colquitt family in synonymous with high level punting not just amongst Vol nation but amongst football fans across the country. But the Tennessee First Family of Fourth Down is dipping its toe into another endeavor.
Father Craig Colquitt has begun painting and his first painting is now for sale. A picture of Smokey in front of Ayres Hall with different references to the Colquitt family is now available with a “generous portion of each sale” being donated to the Tennessee Fund. Each picture is signed by Craig and his children Dustin and Britton.

A Knoxville native, Craig punted at Tennessee from 1974-77 including a pair of All-SEC selections in 1976 and 1977 having a strong NFL career. Craig punted for the Pittsburgh Steelers for six years and was a part of the Steelers’ Super Bowl teams in 1978 and 1979.
Craig’s brother, Jimmy, punted at Tennessee in the early 80s before playing one season in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks.
Dustin punted at Tennessee from 2000-04, twice earning First Team All-SEC honors as well as All-American honors in 2003. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Dustin in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft and Dustin played 15 years with the Chiefs.
Dustin made a pair of Pro Bowls and was a member of the Chiefs Super Bowl team in 2019. He had brief stints with the Steelers, Jaguars, Falcons and Browns before retiring following the 2021 season.
Britton punted at Tennessee from 2004-08 where he earned First Team All-SEC honors in 2006 and Second Team All-SEC honors in 2007 before playing 12 years in the NFL.
The youngest Colquitt spent the majority of his NFL career with the Denver Broncos including the 2015-16 Broncos team that won the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning at quarterback. Britton also played a stint with the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings to end his career.
Both Dustin and Britton attended Bearden High School in Knoxville before playing at Tennessee.

LOL- well, if Craig had perhaps spent more time in Ayres Hall, he wouldn’t have misspelled SMOKEY !!!….rather embarassing ..but not enough to ruin the Thunderfoot greatness he and his sons gave to Tennessee…i remember siing his kicks in games go – (at that time ) above the concrete wall of upper deck in trajectory ..amazing !
