Tennessee football is wearing its all white “stormtrooper” uniforms in its primetime SEC matchup against Georgia on Saturday night in Athens, the Vols announced on X on Thursday morning.
It’s the third time that Tennessee has worn its all white uniforms this season, wearing them in a blowout neutral site win over NC State and a road win at Oklahoma.

So far this season, the Vols are 1-0 in their smokey grey uniforms, 2-0 in their classic home uniforms, 1-0 in their “dark mode” uniforms, 2-0 in its white helmets, orange jerseys and orange pants combination and 0-1 in its white jerseys and orange pants.

Georgia hasn’t announced its uniforms for the game but almost always wears the same uniforms at home, rocking red helmets, red jerseys and silver pants.
The matchup between SEC rivals is the biggest game in college football this week. ESPN’s College Gameday will be in Athens on Saturday afternoon for the matchup between No. 7 Tennessee and No. 12 Georgia.
The Bulldogs enter the matchup 7-2 (5-2 SEC) and need a win in this matchup to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive. Georgia is a desperate football team, coming off a disappointing loss last week at Ole Miss and the rivalry game is its biggest home game of the season.
Tennessee is 8-1 (5-1 SEC) ahead of its most challenging matchup of the season. The Vols have won four straight games since their loss at Arkansas but all four of those games came at Neyland Stadium. The challenge becomes much more difficult this week as against a Georgia program they haven’t defeated since 2016.
Kickoff between Tennessee and Georgia is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night at Sanford Stadium. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe are on the call for ABC.
