Four-star Tennessee receiver commit Travis Smith Jr. is visiting Georgia this weekend as the 12th-ranked Bulldogs host seventh-ranked Tennessee in a critical SEC showdown, On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported Wednesday.
Smith committed to Josh Heupel and the Vols back in mid-July over a top group that included Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. But the Bulldogs didn’t slow down their efforts to recruit Smith afterwards and are finally getting Smith on campus this weekend for the Bulldogs’ biggest home game of the season.
The 6-foot-3, 199-pound prospect ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 122 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Smith also ranks as the No. 17 receiver in the country and the No. 14 overall player in the state of Georgia.
The Atlanta native hasn’t taken a visit to Tennessee since announcing his commitment in July. His only visit since committing to the Vols was an unofficial visit to Auburn in September. Smith’s visit to Georgia this weekend is his first trip to Athens since his official visit all the way back in July.

Georgia is looking to flip a handful of Tennessee targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle including Smith, four-star linebacker Christian Gass and four-star safety Lagonza Hayward.
The Vols’ 2025 recruiting class currently contains 24 commitments and ranks No. 8 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings. Smith is one of three receiver commits in the class along with four-star Radarious Jackson and three-star Joakim Dodson.
No. 12 Georgia (7-2, 5-2 SEC) versus No. 7 Tennessee (8-1, 5-1 SEC) is the biggest game in the country this weekend and one of the biggest games in the SEC this entire season. The Bulldogs must win to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive while Tennessee needs a win to secure its playoff spot and to potentially make the SEC Championship game.
Kickoff between Tennessee and Georgia is at 7:30 p.m. ET at Sanford Stadium on Saturday night. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe are on the call.
