The final injury report for the Tennessee-Mississippi State game on Saturday night in Knoxville has been released.
Tennessee officially has five players ruled out for Saturday’s SEC contest while Mississippi State has eight players out. The Bulldogs previously listed two players as probably on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, both of whom look good to go for Saturday night.
Tennessee’s report is no different from Friday night. Aside from the usual trio, Tennessee will be without running back DeSean Bishop and defensive lineman Tyre West against the Bulldogs.
Here’s a look at the Saturday night injury report for Tennessee-Mississippi State:
TENNESSEE
OUT
- DB Jourdan Thomas
- LB Keenan Pili
- LB Edwin Spillman
- RB DeSean Bishop
- DL Tyre West
Tennessee Notes
The Vols will be without backup running back DeSean Bishop on Saturday night. Bishop suffered an injury in the first half of last Saturday’s contest and did not return to the game against the Kentucky Wildcats. Tennessee turned to freshman running back Peyton Lewis to relieve Dylan Sampson, which is the expected route of attack on Saturday.
Tennessee will also be without starting defensive end Tyre West. Previously a backup for the first five games, West has been Tennessee’s starting DE for the past three wins against Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky. West is a big loss for Tennessee as one of the Vols’ highest-rated defensive players according to PFF.
Pili and Thomas have season-ending injuries while Spillman has missed the majority of the year due to injury.

MISSISSIPPI STATE

- CB Traveon Wright
- WR Creed Whittemore
- WR Trent Hudson
- DL Kedrick Bingley-Jones
- RB Keyvone Lee
- DL Kalvin Dinkins
- OL Canon Boone
Mississippi State Notes
Mississippi State had two players listed as probable on the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night reports. Those two players look to be good to go for Saturday: WR Mario Craver and DL De’Monte Russell.
- Shapen began the year as Mississippi State’s starting quarterback until Michael Van Buren took over the job after an injury starting with the Bulldogs’ loss to Texas on Sept. 28. Van Buren has led Mississippi State in passing in all five games since.
- Whittemore recorded four receptions in the Bulldogs’ first three games of the year and doesn’t appear to have played since.
- Keyvone Lee is Mississippi State’s third-leading rusher on the season with 140 yards on 29 carries. Lee’s workload has been significantly behind the top two backs, though, at 104 carries and 86 carries, respectively.
- Mario Craver is a big one to watch this week as he has the second-most receiving yards (355) and the fifth-most receptions on the Bulldogs’ roster this season.
