Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops sent in a play from the Tennessee-Kentucky game on Saturday to league offices this week, according to On3’s Griffin McVeigh.

The video that was sent in involved Tennessee defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott on the Vols’ sideline during a play from the Kentucky offense.

Wildcats quarterback Brock Vandagriff was forced out of bounds during a scramble and ran out near the Tennessee sideline. Norman-Lott, standing on the Vols’ sideline out of the play, extended his arms and made contact with Vandagriff, who fell backward as he went down. Norman-Lott did not appear to move his feet to specifically make or avoid contact.

No flag was thrown on the play to the surprise of broadcasters Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers on the call for the SEC Network. Stoops said this week that there is “no place” in the game for “anybody striking anybody in the head at any place.”

“It is something I sent into the SEC office,” Stoops said according to On3 Sports. “That’s it, I can’t even tell you what was said or the information that I got back. I’ll just say, in general — not about that player but in general — there is no place for anybody striking anybody in the head at any place. Before, after, during, anytime during a game.”

Kentucky quarterback Brock Vandagriff threw for 123 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 10-of-17 passing before leaving the game with a head injury in the middle of the third quarter. The play involving Norman-Lott did not directly cause Vandagriff to leave the game as the controversial no-call took place with two minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Tennessee safety Andre Turrentine picked off Vandagriff on the next play, a 3rd and 8 from the UK 25-yard-line.

No. 7 Tennessee defeated Kentucky 28-18 on Saturday night in Knoxville.
