Tennessee brought out its Dark Mode uniforms for Saturday’s post-Halloween win over Kentucky in Neyland Stadium.
The “Venom”-inspired social media push helped create hype and excitement for the all-black uniform combination all week as the Vols eventually found a 28-18 win over their SEC border rival.
Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava threw for nearly 300 yards and a touchdown on Saturday while Dylan Sampson etched his name into the Vols’ history book. The Tennessee running back scored two rushing touchdowns against Kentucky to become the Vols’ all-time single-season touchdown scorer with 19 and counting. Sampson tied and passed Gene McEver’s 1929 record.
The Vols’ defense was stout as usual as they have held every opponent to less than 20 points this season.
