Each week Rocky Top Insider will recap the performances of former Tennessee Volunteers in the NFL.
Below is a comprehensive list of week eight VFLs in the NFL, including statistics and observations.
Derek Barnett – Houston Texans – DE
Barnett had one tackle in the Texans 23-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Matthew Butler – Las Vegas Raiders – DT
Butler increased his snap count from the previous week, participating in 23 snaps in the Raiders 27-20 loss to VFL Trey Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Morgan Cox – Tennessee Titans – LS
Cox snapped the ball eight times in the Titans’ 52-14 loss to former Volunteers Hendon Hooker and Jalen Reeves-Maybin of the Detroit Lions.
Joshua Dobbs – San Francisco 49ers – QB
Dobbs did not see the field in the 49ers Sunday Night Football win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Hendon Hooker – Detroit Lions – QB
Hooker took all the quarterback snaps in the fourth quarter, as the Lions won in dominant fashion over the Titans. Hooker completed both of his passing attempts for a combined six yards of offense.
Jalin Hyatt – New York Giants – WR
Hyatt was active but did not line up for a snap in the Giants 26-18 loss to the Steelers on Monday Night Football.

Theo Jackson – Minnesota Vikings – DB
Jackson played 21 special teams snaps in the Viking’s 30-20 loss to former Tennessee standout Byron Young and the Rams.
Gabe Jeudy-Lally – Tennessee Titans – DB
Jeudy-Lally played in seven total snaps against the Lions, participating on the special teams unit.
Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints – RB
Kamara had 122 all-purpose yards in the Saints 26-8 loss to the Chargers. Kamara rushed for 67 yards on 10 carries while catching six of his 11 targets for 55 yards.

Cade Mays – Carolina Panthers – OL
Mays played 12 snaps for the Panthers in their 28-14 loss to the Broncos.
Jaylen McCollough – Los Angeles Rams – DB
McCollough had two tackles in the Rams win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Joe Milton III – New England Patriots – QB
Milton did not make his way onto the field for the Patriots’ 25-22 win over the Jets.
Josh Palmer – Los Angeles Chargers – WR
Palmer caught two passes for 72 yards. He was targeted four times.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin – Detroit Lions – LB
Reeves-Maybin finished the day with three tackles in the Lion’s win over the Titans. He was graded as the Lion’s top linebacker since week four by Pro Football Focus.

Trey Smith – Kansas City Chiefs – OL
Smith logged 77 snaps for the Chiefs, including the play below where he pushed running back Kareem Hunt into the end zone.

Alontae Taylor – New Orleans Saints – CB
Taylor completed another all-around game for the Saints as he ended the game with a half sack, three tackles, two quarterback hits, and a pass breakup that can be seen below in New Orleans’s loss to the Chargers.

Cedric Tillman – Cleveland Browns – WR
Going into Sunday, Tillman had not caught his first NFL touchdown. He ended the day with two of them. Tillman caught seven passes on nine targets for 99 yards. The former Tennessee wide receiver continues to flourish after the departure of Amari Cooper from the Browns. Both Touchdown catches can be seen below.

Shy Tuttle – Carolina Panthers – DL
Tuttle wreaked havoc for the Panthers, as he had a season-high seven tackles, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. He was the highest-graded Panther per Pro Football Focus.

Dee Williams – Seattle Seahawks – RS
Williams fumbled a punt return in the Seahawks 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Jaylen Wright – Miami Dolphins – RB
Wright had two carries for 18 yards in the Dolphins 28-27 loss to the Cardinals.
Byron Young – Los Angeles Rams – OLB
Young had a sack and two tackles, as well as a controversial safety in the Ram’s 30-20 win over the Vikings. Young was not flagged for what should have been called a facemask when he recorded the safety.
Byron Young has a fine incoming for the blatant facemask officials missed.
