Each week we’ll take a look at the performances of the players who transferred out of Tennessee following the 2023 season.
Here’s a look at how Tennessee’s outgoing transfers performed in week nine of the 2024 college football season:
DL Tyler Baron – Miami (FL)
Baron had two tackles in Miami’s 36-14 win over in-state opponent Florida State. Baron has not recorded a sack since week four but has produced multiple tackles in every game he has played this season. The former Tennessee defensive lineman was flagged for a blatant roughing the passer penalty, as seen below.
I often disagree with most roughing the passer penalties.
This one on Miami’s Tyler Baron, however…

CB Warren Burrell – Georgia Tech
Burrell had four tackles in Georgia Tech’s 21-6 loss to Virginia Tech. The former Tennessee cornerback continues to be a top player in the Yellow Jackets secondary.
CB Cristian Conyer – Coastal Carolina
Conyer and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers had an open date in week nine. They will travel to Troy in week 10.
LB Elijah Herring – Memphis
Herring had an all-around productive day for the Memphis Tigers in their 33-28 win over Charlotte. The Tennessee native (Riverdale High School, Murfreesboro) and former Volunteer had six tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. Herring has been one of the most productive players in his first season with the Tigers.
S Jack Luttrell – Arizona
Luttrell started for the second consecutive week in Arizona’s 31-26 loss to West Virginia. Luttrell ended the day with 11 total tackles and a forced fumble for the Wildcats. Unfortunately for Luttrell, he saw what should have been an interception slip right through his hands for what would have been a game-changing play. The Wildcats will play at UCF in week 10.

S Tamarion McDonald – Louisville
McDonald had one tackle in Louisville’s 31-27 win over Boston College. Boston College elected to run the ball more than pass, so the secondary was not tested as much as they had been in previous games, limiting opportunity for McDonald.
OL Addison Nichols – Arkansas
Nichols helped bolster an Arkansas rushing attack that ran for 361 yards on 36 carries in the Razorbacks’ 58-25 win over Mississippi State. The offensive line did not give up a sack in the win.
CB De’Shawn Rucker – South Florida
Rucker and the South Florida Bulls had an open date in week nine. They will travel to FAU for their week 10 contest.
CB Doneiko Slaughter – Arkansas
Slaughter had seven tackles and a pass breakup in Arkansas’s 58-25 win over Mississippi State. Arkansas will host Ole Miss for a chance at another top-25 win in week 10.
CB Brandon Turnage – Ole Miss
Turnage was listed as a participant in Ole Miss’ 26-14 win over Oklahoma but did not record a stat to find his way onto the box score.
S Wesley Walker – Michigan
Walker found his way onto the stat sheet for the first time since September 14th in Michigan’s 24-17 win over Michigan State. Walker had three tackles in the victory. The Wolverines will host top-ranked Oregon in week 10.
