Dark Mode is back.
With No. 7 Tennessee hosting Kentucky this Saturday night in Knoxville, the Vols will be breaking out their all-black Dark Mode uniforms.
The all-black set might still be a bit controversial to some, but it seems most of the Tennessee fanbase has accepted the new tradition with all the bells and whistles the night game comes with.
The Vols’ Dark Mode uniforms include black helmets with an orange Power T, black jerseys with orange lettering, black pants with orange piping, and black cleats with orange accessories.
Tennessee’s announcement video used a “Venom” styling from the Spider-Man comics and movies – the more aggressive, more violent alter ego of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man.

Here’s a look at some of Tennessee’s Dark Mode shots from recent seasons under head coach Josh Heupel:
No. 7 Tennessee will host Kentucky at 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday night in Neyland Stadium. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network.
The Wildcats are in the middle of a collapsing season with three straight losses to Vanderbilt, Florida, and Auburn in the last three weeks. While Kentucky did play Georgia well and beat a strange Ole Miss team by three, the Wildcats have really struggled in the month of October without a win.
