Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz was caught on camera Saturday throwing out what appeared to be multiple expletives in the Tigers’ blowout loss against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Missouri quarterback Brady Cook suffered an ankle injury last Saturday against Auburn but returned to the game after a quick trip to the hospital for an evaluation. Cook, fighting through the ankle pain, sustained a hand injury during Missouri’s 34-0 loss to Alabama and did not play in the second half of the game. Cook’s final passing attempt on Saturday came at the 8:54 mark in the second quarter before quarterback Drew Pyne stepped in as a replacement.

During the first quarter on Saturday, Alabama was called for a personal foul for hitting Cook on a 3rd-and-12 play but the Missouri quarterback appeared to think the play was dead. Cook, who was already banged up entering the game, took a huge hit on the play. Alabama was hit with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty while Missouri was simultaneously called for a delay of game.

ESPN’s play-by-play shows that the two calls happened at the 5:14 mark in the first quarter.

That call is what had Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz so upset on the sideline. At the time of the call, Missouri was trailing 3-0 in what would eventually be a 34-0 blowout.

The video from Al.com on social media has more than 220,000 views in the first 14 hours since it was posted.

Cook finished the game 7-of-12 passing for 30 yards. Pyne, in replacement of Cook, threw 6-of-12 from 42 yards. Missouri did rack up 167 rushing yards on Saturday but even that was overshadowed by Alabama’s 271 yards on the ground from seven different players.

Missouri does not play Tennessee this year with the new 16-team SEC scheduling. The Volunteers defeated Alabama by a score of 24-17 on Oct. 19 in Knoxville.

No. 7 Tennessee had its second and final open date this past weekend. The Volunteers are preparing to host Kentucky in a game underneath the Neyland Stadium lights next Saturday night.
