Former Tennessee safety Jaylen McCollough keeps making in his NFL rookie season. The Los Angeles Rams safety had his best game of his professional career on Sunday, totaling one tackle, two interceptions and two pass deflections in their 20-15 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
McCollough’s first interception came in the third quarter with the former Vol guarding a Raiders’ receiver out of the backfield in man coverage. Defending a Texas route, Gardner Minshew’s pass went off the receiver and into McCollough’s arms for an interceptions.

Then with Los Angeles leading 20-15 late in the fourth quarter, the Raiders were trying to put a drive together to earn the win. They didn’t get very far.

Former Tennessee edge rusher Byron Young as well as Jared Verse pushed Minshew from the pocket. The Raiders’ quarterback’s throw sailed over the middle and into the arms of McCollough for his second interception of the day.

McCollough’s game sealing interception sealed the 20-15 win for Los Anegeles as the Rams improved to 2-4 on the young season.
Now through six games this season, McCollough’s totaled five tackles, three interceptions and three pass deflections. Ironically, McCollough’s season-high in interceptions during his college career was three, coming in both 2023 and 2021.
McCollough is off to a great start to his professional career after signing with the Rams as an undrafted free agent. He’ll look to continue it next week when the Rams host the Minnesota Vikings.
