Tennessee basketball is preparing for a major recruiting weekend around Vol football’s matchup against Alabama. The Vols are hosting a top five recruit in the 2025 recruiting cycle on an official visit as well as six total players, including a pair of top 25 recruits, in the 2026 cycle on unofficial visits, sources told RTI.
The top recruit of the weekend is five-star power forward Nate Ament. Ament ranks as the No. 4 player and No. 2 power forward in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings.
A Warrenton, Virginia native, Ament has taken visits to Texas, Duke and Louisville so far this fall and has an official visit scheduled to Kansas State for the winter.
While Ament is Tennessee’s only visitor in the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Vols are hosting a handful of unofficial visitors in the 2026 class as well. Five-star power forward Toni Bryant and four-star small forward Cole Cloer are both unofficially visiting Tennessee this weekend.
Bryant ranks as the No. 24 player and No. 5 power forward in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. A Tampa native, Bryant officially visited Ole Miss last month and also has plans to visit Oklahoma State later this fall.

Cloer ranks as the No. 25 player and No. 10 small forward in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. A Greensboro native, Cloer has taken visits to home state North Carolina and North Carolina State.
The Vols are also hosting four-star wing Manny Green, unranked forward Justin Caldwell, unranked guard Davion Thompson and unranked center Will Stevens on unofficial visits.
Tennessee basketball currently holds one commit in its 2025 recruiting class and it comes from four-star center DeWayne Brown. The Hoover, Alabama native committed to the Vols over Mississippi State back in April. Brown’s commitment gives Tennessee the No. 56 recruiting class in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports team rankings.
While the Vols have just one commit in their 2025 recruiting class, a number of their top targets are announcing college commitments in upcoming weeks. Four-star shooting guard Amari Evans is announcing his college commitment on Nov. 1 while four-star combo guard Isaiah Denis is announcing his college commitment on Nov. 2. Tennessee is in the top group for both blue-chip recruits.
Tennessee is also in hot pursuit of five-star recruits Brayden Burries and Chris Cenac. The Vols have more scholarships to work with in the 2025 recruiting cycle than they have in a number of years due to already being under the scholarship limit by two and having six seniors on their current roster.
The Vols have yet to land a commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle but it is still very early in the process so that is of little surprise.
