Four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell is officially visiting Tennessee football this weekend for the Vols’ matchup against Alabama, 247sports’ Tom Loy first reported on Tuesday night.
Campbell ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 41 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Durham native also ranks as the No. 5 defensive lineman and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina.
Tennessee has had an abundance of success recruiting the Tar Heel State including in the 2025 recruiting cycle where they hold a commitment from the top player in the state, five-star offensive tackle David Sanders.
The blue-chip recruit was committed to Clemson until late September. When Campbell de-committed, Tennessee and North Carolina were the viewed as the top contenders to land the top 50 recruit’s commitment.

Campbell’s weekend trip to Tennessee is his first visit since backing off his commitment to Clemson. It’s Campbell’s first visit to Tennessee since last September. The Southern High School standout has taken five total visits to North Carolina but all of those visits were before he first committed to Clemson.
Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently boasts 23 commits including from five defensive lineman— four-stars Ethan Utley, Mariyon Dye and Jayden Loftin as well as three-stars Darrion Smith and Charles House. Campbell would become the second highest rated commit in the Vols’ 2025 recruiting class.
The Vols’ 23-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 7 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
