For most Tennessee fans, escaping Saturday’s contest with Florida with a walk-off Dylan Sampson touchdown was a major relief. Despite eight-plus quarters of rough football from the Vols, an SEC win against a fierce rival must have felt nice nonetheless.
The same could not be said for the Tennessee fan in this week’s SEC Short.
The SEC Shorts crew brought out the “Fraud Detector” for this week’s episode, asking teams a bevy of questions to try and determine their fraud status. The Vols faced the music with multiple questions regarding their struggles against Florida during the 23-17 overtime win. The Vols scored their first touchdown of the game late in the third quarter, ending a three-quarter offensive scoring drought for the Vols dating back to the loss at Arkansas. For an offense used to finding the checkerboard early and often, the Vols’ struggles have mounted in the past few weeks.
This week’s sketch also made sure to poke fun at Alabama and Georgia, while showing some more love to Vanderbilt in hilarious ways. The Vols will certainly have a chance to prove they are not worthy of the fraud detector this Saturday when Alabama travels to Neyland Stadium.
No. 11 Tennessee will host No. 7 Alabama at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville.
