The defending NFC North-champion Lions (3-1) enter the game off their Week 5 bye.
Jared Goff and the Detroit offense rank eighth in scoring (26 points per game) and third in total yardage (397 per contest).
Aidan Hutchinson and the Lions defense have improved to 10th in points allowed (20.5) but are still ranked 22nd with an average of 349 yards permitted per outing.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, meanwhile, are 3-2 following back-to-back road wins over the New York Giants (20-15) and Pittsburgh Steelers (20-17).
Dallas is ranked 15th in scoring (23.4 ppg) and 22nd in scoring defense (24.2). The latter unit, though, will be noticeably short-handed with leading tackler Eric Kendricks and pass rushers Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence sidelined with injuries.
Sunday’s game is a rematch of Dallas’ controversial 20-19 home win in Week 17 last season. Late in that game, Detroit’s successful 2-point conversion reception by offensive lineman Taylor Decker with 23 seconds remaining was negated when he was ruled to be an ineligible receiver after an officials’ conference.
For this Sunday, the Lions entered the weekend as a 3-point road favorite (-176 moneyline) at FanDuel with a game total of 52.5 points. The Cowboys were catching +148 moneyline odds.
New sportsbook customers can bet on the Lions-Cowboys side, total or team/player props via the FanDuel promo $300 bonus welcome offer.
