Tennessee football has three receivers on the injury report ahead of its matchup against Florida on Saturday night. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, all three of Dont’e Thornton, Bru McCoy and Squirrel White will be available for the Vols in the rivalry matchup.
The Vols listed Thornton as questionable and McCoy and White as probable on their Wednesday and Thursday injury report. Having all three receivers available is crucial for Tennessee against Florida as the Vols look to get their passing attack going after lackluster performances in matchups against Oklahoma and Arkansas.
McCoy and White are both starting receivers for Tennessee and while Thornton is Chris Brazzell’s backup, he’s perhaps been the Vols’ best receiver to date this season. Thornton leads Tennessee with 284 yards and three touchdowns while McCoy is second on the team with 14 receptions and 209 yards. White leads the Vols with 15 catches to go along with 159 receiving yards.

All three players suffered injuries in Tennessee’s loss at Arkansas last week. Both McCoy and Thornton suffered injuries on the first drive of the second half before returning to the game but not playing at the end of the game. White suffered an injury on the second to last drive of the game and did not return.
Tennessee football’s passing attack struggled in each of its last two games. In the win at Oklahoma and loss at Arkansas, the Vols combined to pass for just 352 yards.
While all three are available, it’s uncertain whether they’re fully healthy and if they’ll play a full allotment of snaps against the Gators. Tennessee has depth at receiver and Brazzell, Mike Matthews and Chas Nimrod could all see an increase of snaps if the trio are’t full-go.
Kickoff at Neyland Stadium is at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night. Bob Wischusen, Louis Riddick and Kris Budden are on the call for ESPN.
