Tennessee and Florida will square off in an SEC rivalry clash on Saturday night in Knoxville, TN.

Tennessee returns home after a month away from Neyland Stadium with a 4-1 record and the No. 8 ranking in the country. The Vols made it through their first four opponents without much trouble including a pair of ranked wins for the resume but fell into a roadblock against the Arkansas Razorbacks last weekend in Fayetteville. Tennessee struggled to get the offense going on the road and while the defense was stout as usual, two touchdowns weren’t enough to beat the Razorbacks. The Vols now return home to get on the right track but have to beat a rival to do so.

While the Vols have only hosted two non-conference teams in Neyland this season, Tennessee’s offense has typically been very impressive inside their home stadium. The Vols’ fanbase will provide a rowdy atmosphere with Checker Neyland as fans are eager to see Tennessee back at home.

There’s a lot on the line for Tennessee on Saturday night in Knoxville and the Gators are looking to play spoiler for the Vols.

Previous Matchups

Tennessee and Florida are certainly no strangers. Bitter rivals would be a better way to put it.

The Vols and Gators have squared off 53 times with Florida leading the series record 32-21 with 17 wins in the last 19 years. Tennessee will look to defeat Florida in back-to-back home games for the first time since 1990 and 1992 after Hendon Hooker’s Vols took down the Gators in 2022.

More than the win-loss record, though, the Tennessee-Florida game always feels like a season-defining game. With Tennessee coming off an unexpected loss to Arkansas last weekend, that is certainly true for this year as well.
