Tennessee football returns to Neyland Stadium for its SEC home-opener against rival Florida on Saturday night. With the Vols preparing for a conference bout, that means there’s another week of full availability reports ahead of the game.

The availability report is new this season and is effectively an injury report that each team releases every night up until kickoff. The final availability report comes out 90 minutes before kickoff on game day.

With a handful of Tennessee players suffering injuries against Arkansas, there’s plenty to monitor for the Vols this week on the availability report as the week progresses.

With that, let’s take a look at the Tennessee-Friday Wednesday availability report including some notes on the report for both teams.

Tennessee Availability Report

OUT

– S Jourdan Thomas

– LB Edwin Spillman

DOUBTFUL

– LB Ben Bolton

QUESTIONABLE

– WR Dont’e Thornton

PROBABLE

– WR Squirrel White

– WR Bru McCoy

– STAR Christian Harriso

Tennessee Notes

The interest starts at the receiver spot where all three of Dont’e Thornton, Squirrel White and Bru McCoy suffered injuries during the Arkansas game. White and McCoy both being probable is a good sign for Tennessee while losing the questionable Thornton would be a serious blow due to his ability to stretch defenses vertically.

STAR Christian Harrison never exited the Arkansas game with an injury but is on the report and listed as probable. Reserve safety John Slaughter is off the availability report after being listed as out for both the Oklahoma and Arkansas games.

Thomas has been out for the entire season after tearing his ACL during fall camp. He was projected to be Tennessee’s starting STAR.

Florida Availability Report

OUT

– DB Ja’Keem Jackson

– WR TJ Abrams

– RB Treyaun Webb

– RB KD Daniels

– WR Kahleil Jackson

– OL Devon Manuel

– TE Tony Livingston

– WR Marcus Burke

– DL Jamari Lyons

QUESTIONABLE

– DB DJ Douglas

– DB Bryce Thorton

– DB Asa Turner

– OL Austin Barber

– DL Joey Slackman

Florida Notes

Florida’s injury report is very busy and while a few players have been hurt for most of the season and others do not have major roles, some are serious and worth noting.

Austin Barber is Florida’s starting left tackle and Devon Manuel is his backup. If Barber isn’t able to go then Florida would be on its third string left tackle which would be a very serious issue against Tennessee’s defensive line.

Thornton is a starting safety and is coming off his best performance of the season against UCF. Injuries have been an issue for Thornton this season with the sophomore also missing the first two games of the season due to injury.

Star Florida receiver Eugene Wilson III is not on the injury report for the first time in three weeks and is poised to return to the field against Tennessee.
