Each week we’ll take a look at the performances of the players who transferred out of Tennessee following the 2023 season.
Here’s a look at how Tennessee’s outgoing transfers performed in Week 4 college football action:
DL Tyler Baron – Miami (FL)
Baron recorded three tackles in Miami’s domination of in-state opponent South Florida. This was Baron’s first game without a sack as he has been one of the best players on the Hurricane’s defense to this point. The Hurricanes are undefeated, sitting at 4-0.
CB Warren Burrell – Georgia Tech
Burrell had two tackles in Georgia Tech’s 31-19 loss to Louisville. Burrell and the Georgia Tech defense failed to slow down the Cardinals’ air attack as Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough completed 13 of his 19 attempts for 269 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. This was a game in which two former members of the Tennessee secondary played against each other, with Tamarion McDonald starting for Louisville.
CB Cristian Conyer – Coastal Carolina
Conyer recorded two tackles in Coastal Carolina’s 43-24 loss to Virginia. Conyer continues to provide rotational snaps coming off of the bench in the Chanticleers secondary.
LB Elijah Herring – Memphis
Herring missed his second straight game with an injury in the Tigers 56-44 loss to Navy. Memphis missed Herring, as they struggled to stop Navy’s rushing attack, totaling 361 rushing yards with an average of nine yards per carry. Herring is listed as day-to-day and will have a chance to return for Memphis’s in-state matchup against MTSU in Week 5.
S Jack Luttrell – Arizona
Arizona had an open date and did not play a game in Week 4.
S Tamarion McDonald – Louisville
McDonald was vital in giving run support to the rest of the Cardinal’s defense as they slowed down Georgia Tech’s ground game. McDonald came away with seven total tackles in their 31-19 win. Louisville is undefeated and will travel to South Bend, Indiana for a top-25 matchup against Notre Dame in Week 5.

OL Addison Nichols – Arkansas
Nichols returned to the starting center spot from an ankle injury in Arkansas’s 24-14 road win at Auburn. Nichols struggled with some bad snaps in his return but contributed to the Razorbacks’ rushing attack as they ran for 183 yards. Arkansas will host Texas A&M in Week 5 before the Volunteers travel to Fayetteville in Week 6.
CB De’Shawn Rucker – South Florida
Rucker made five tackles and deflected a pass in South Florida’s 50-15 loss to Miami. This was a game in which there was a Tennessee transfer starting on defense for both teams. Rucker started for the Bulls, and Tyler Baron continues to be a centerpiece for the Hurricanes defensive line.
CB Doneiko Slaughter – Arkansas
Slaughter contributed in all facets of defense as he recorded an interception, sack, and seven solo tackles in Arkansas’ 24-14 win at Auburn. This is Slaughter’s second consecutive game with seven tackles as he leads the backend of the Arkansas defense.
CB Brandon Turnage – Ole Miss
Turnage grabbed his first interception of the season for the Rebels and returned it for six yards before going down. He also came away with four tackles in Ole Miss’ 52-13 win over Georgia Southern.
S Wesley Walker – Michigan
Wesley Walker did not find his way onto the stat sheet. Still, he was listed as a participant in Michigan’s 27-24 win over their new conference opponent, the University of Southern California.
