Saturday night’s college football main event on ABC will feature a heavyweight SEC clash with two historic programs and one major connecting piece.
No. 15 Oklahoma will host No. 6 Tennessee in both team’s SEC opener on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Josh Heupel will return to Norman on Saturday as the head coach of Tennessee in his fourth season with the Vols. Heupel spent two seasons as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback from 1999-2000 and helped the Sooners win the National Championship during the 2000 season. Heupel eventually returned to Oklahoma as an assistant coach for the Sooners but was let go from the program in 2014.
There’s a ton of buzz around the game today. While this game is perhaps the biggest off-the-field storyline game of the regular season, there’s still a huge Top 15 clash to be played inside Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.
