Tennessee moves to 3-0 on the season with a dominant, lopsided 71-0 win over Kent State on Saturday night in Knoxville.
The Vols’ offense continued to roll back in Neyland Stadium with nine straight touchdowns on nine drives in the first-half action. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava led the first seven drives until backup quarterback Gaston Moore came in and earned the last two. Tennessee emptied the bench and found two field goals in the second half, but the dogs were called off when it was 65-0 at the midway break.
Tennessee’s defense also continues its streak of not allowing an opposing offense into the endzone, extending its streak to 12 straight quarters to open the 2024 season.
The Vols have a considerable amount of buzz around the college football landscape, especially with how volatile the college football world has been this season.

Here’s a look at some of the social media talk about the Tennessee program coming out of the Vols’ 71-0 win over Kent State on Saturday:
Five teams that have looked the most dominant this season
1) Texas – haven’t let up for a second
2) Tennessee – looking scary good
3) Ole Miss – best offense
4) Miami – Cam Ward is Heisman front runner?
5) Ohio State – had one mini slump at beginning of Akron game, elite since— Brandon Walker (@BFW) September 15, 2024

Nico is making NFL throws as a RS Freshman, and he’s only starting his 4th game in college. he has the potential to be the #1 draft pick if he’s healthy and continues to work towards his ceiling https://t.co/GnXSF6r51p

Vols,
These eyes have never witnessed such slaughter & carnage. Nevertheless, there needn’t be complacency as we set our aim west. My former post relishes a chance to defeat its once prodigal son, but we shall open up our own land rush on the Sooner nation.
Til VOLhalla

Tennessee’s 28 points in the second quarter against Kent State are the most the Vols have scored in a quarter since they had 37 in the first quarter against Kent State on September 14, 2024.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself but Tennessee might already be the greatest team in the history of football.

Proud to announce I will be starting at left guard in the second half for the Vols. So thankful for this opportunity.

As badly as Josh Heupel wants to beat Oklahoma next week, absolutely no doubt every player in orange and white wants to win it for him (and themselves) even more. #GBO
— Christopher Gabriel (@CGProgram) September 15, 2024
Did Kent State do something to pass off Heupel???? Lmao they just did an onside kick and recovered it, already up 30-0 in the FIRST QUARTER

If you think Josh Heupel is going to ever let his foot off the gas, his half-time interview going into the locker room up 65-0 says otherwise. “The opponent is nameless and faceless.”
