Tennessee football returns home to Neyland Stadium on Saturday night where they’ll face Kent State in its final tuneup before the start of SEC play next week at Oklahoma.

The Vols are off to a dominant 2-0 start to the season, eviscerating Chattanooga 69-3 in their season opener before dominating then-No. 24 NC State 51-10 in Charlotte.

Kent State is off to a very different start to its 2024 campaign. After dropping its season opener at Pitt like expected, the Golden Flashes lost at home to FCS St. Francis a week ago. In head coach Kenni Burns two seasons, Kent State is just 1-13 and hasn’t defeated a single FBS team.

With that, Tennessee is expected to roll on Saturday night with the point spread being a full 49 points. It can be easy to check out ahead of a matchup like that but the Vols are looking to avoid that fate.

That’s where Tennessee’s hype video for the Kent State game picks up. Captioned “all in. for each other” the video includes highlights from the first two weeks of the season with a Josh Heupel speech to the team in the background. In the speech, Heupel dropped a familiar line that highlights the importance of the week even tough the opponent isn’t a strong one.

“Good teams continue to do what?” Heupel asks the team.

“Get better,” they responded.
