Tennessee has announced four captains for Saturday’s contest against Kent State with two seniors and two sophomores.

The Vols’ captains against the Golden Flashes will be redshirt senior OL Dayne Davis, redshirt senior LS Matthew Salansky, sophomore linebacker Arion Carter, and sophomore linebacker Jeremiah Telander.

Salansky has been a captain for all three games, alongside Bru McCoy, Omari Thomas, and Keenan Pili for the season opener and Elijah Simmons, Cooper Mays, and Pili for Week 2 against NC State. Until Carter and Telander were selected for Game 3, all of Tennessee’s previous captains had been seniors.

With their all-orange uniform combination set for Saturday’s game, Tennessee will host Kent State under the Neyland Stadium lights at 7:45 p.m. ET this weekend. The Vols enter the game with the No. 7 ranking in the country after demolishing FCS Chattanooga 69-3 in the opener and a dominant 51-10 win over No. 24 NC State last week in a neutral site contest. Tennessee has been operating extremely well in the first two weeks and the Golden Flashes have the tough task of trying to slow down the freight train.
