No. 14 Tennessee faces their first true test of the season on Saturday night in Charlotte when the Vols take on No. 24 NC State in the Duke’s Mayo Classic.
The Vols and the Wolfpack both enter Week 2 with an undefeated record as NC State defeated Western Carolina 38-21 and Tennessee beat Chattanooga 69-3 in Week 1 action.
All eyes will be on Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava after his record-setting first-half performance last weekend, but it’ll be the Vols’ secondary tasked with slowing down QB Grayson McCall, WR Kevin Concepcion, and the NC State offense.
Tennessee returns to Knoxville next weekend for a Week 3 matchup against Kent State in Neyland Stadium.
