Tennessee Football Announces Uniforms For Neutral Site Matchup Against NC State

Tennessee football is wearing its all white “stormtrooper” uniforms for its week two matchup against North Carolina State in Charlotte, the team announced on X Thursday morning.

While its a neutral site game, Tennessee is the road team and is in its road white uniforms while NC State will wear home jerseys. The Wolfpack hasn’t announced which uniforms they are specifically wearing or whether they’ll wear red or black uniforms.

The neutral site matchup in Charlotte is the first time that Tennessee is wearing its all white uniforms this season. Tennessee wore its Smokey Grey uniforms in its season opening win over Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee wore its all white uniforms three times a season ago, posting a 1-2 record in the games with losses against Florida and Alabama and a win over Kentucky. In Josh Heupel’s three seasons as head coach, Tennessee is 4-4 in its stormtrooper uniforms including a non conference win at Pittsburgh during the 2022 season.

The Vols are currently eight-point favorites against NC State in the crucial week two neutral site matchup as Tennessee looks to earn its first marquee win of the season.

Kickoff from Bank of America Stadium for the Duke’s Mayo Classic is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night. Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe are on the call for ABC.
