Tennessee had four media sessions on Tuesday morning as the Vols prepare for a Top 25 clash against NC State this weekend in Charlotte, NC.
Wide receiver coach Kelsey Pope led off the day with the media as he spoke about Dont’e Thornton’s season opener and the receiver’s connection with Nico Iamaleava. Pope was followed by defensive backs coach Willie Martinez, who complimented Boo Carter’s game and spoke about the task of slowing down NC State’s offense this weekend.
A pair of Tennessee players also met with the media after their coaches with defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs and center Cooper Mays.
Hobbs talked about building off his season opener while also giving his thoughts on returning to his home state of North Carolina this weekend. Mays, on the other hand, gave his perspective on the offensive line’s new starters and shed some insight into the conditioning required for the Vols’ up-tempo offense.
No. 14 Tennessee will take on No. 24 NC State in the Duke’s Mayo Kickoff this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
