Tennessee Football is set to debut its new “Volunteer State” Smokey Grey uniform combination on Saturday afternoon as the Vols host Chattanooga in the season opener.

Tennessee is paying tribute to The Volunteer State with a Tri-Star design on the jersey, helmets, and pants. The off-balanced white stripe on the helmet and the pants represent the outer circle on the Tri-Star logo. The helmets are patterned after the Great Smoky Mountains.

The 2024 uniforms are also the Vols’ first-ever uniforms to have “Tennessee” written across the chest.

“The 2024 edition of the Smokey Grey uniform series pays homage to the flagship university’s namesake — The Volunteer State,” Tennessee wrote in their announcement tweet this summer.
