Tennessee football is in the top five for class of 2026 five-star running back Savion Hiter according to On3 sports Steve Wiltfong. Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State joined Tennessee in Hiter’s top group.
Hiter ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 29 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Woodberry Forest native also ranks as the top player in the state of Virginia and the top running back in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
As a sophomore last season at Woodberry Forest High School, Hitter ran for 1,187 yards and 11 touchdowns while also returning two kicks for a touchdown.

While it is still early in the 2026 recruiting cycle, the Vols have targeted Hiter as one of their top running backs in the cycle. Hiter took a visit to Tennessee last summer and has also taken two visits to Georgia, Michigan and Ohio State as well as one visit to Penn State.
Tennessee football currently has two players committed in its 2026 recruiting class with both committing to the Vols earlier this month. Five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon was Tennessee’s first commit while four-star tight end Carson Sneed became the second commit less than a week later.
The Vols’ 2026 recruiting class currently ranks No. 15 nationally and No. 8 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
