Tennessee receiver commit Joakim Dodson is playing his high school senior season at a new school after transferring from Collierville High School to the Baylor School this offseason.
It didn’t take Dodson long to hit the ground running, taking a screen pass 53 yards for a touchdown in Baylor’s season opening win over Rabun Gap live on ESPN Sunday afternoon.

The long touchdown reception proved to be the deciding score as Baylor earned a 21-14 victory to open up its 2024 season.

Dodson ranks as a three-star recruit and the No. 647 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect also ranks as the No. 101 receiver and the No. 21 player in the state of Tennessee in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The instate receiver committed to Tennessee football over Georgia Tech, Missouri and Indiana back in February. At the time, Dodson was Tennessee’s sixth overall commit and its first receiver commit in its 2025 recruiting class. Dodson is coming off a junior season where he caught 52 passes for 918 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season and also added one rushing and one passing touchdown while leading the Dragons to an 8-4 record.
Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 24 commitments including from four-star receivers Radarious Jackson and Travis Smith Jr. in addition to Dodson. The Vols’ 2025 recruiting class currently ranks No. 6 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
