The NFL preseason is coming to a close this weekend and the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers faced off on Saturday in both teams final tuneup before the start of the regular season.

The matchup included some Vol-on-Vol crime with former Tennessee cornerback Cameron Sutton intercepting former Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker late in the third quarter.

Check out the interception here.

Sutton was making his return to Detroit where he played last season and recorded one tackle and one pass deflection besides the interception.

Despite the interception, Hooker turned in an incredibly strong performance in the Lions’ 24-17 playoff win. The second-year quarterback completed 12-of-20 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown in the win. Hooker also showed off his high level running ability, totaling 93 yards on 10 carries while also fumbling once. Check out this impressive scramble that set up a second quarter touchdown here.

Hooker is entering his first fully healthy NFL season after missing nearly the entirety of his rookie year recovering from tearing his ACL late in his senior season at Tennessee. The Greensboro, North Carolina native is Jared Goff’s backup after the former first overall pick signed a large extension this offseason.

Sutton is coming out of a bad offseason off the field. The Lions released Sutton on March 21 after a warrant was issued for his arrest on March 7, stemming from police responding to a home where Sutton “allegedly battered a woman before fleeing the scene,” according to ESPN. Sutton turned himself into Hillsborough County police after three weeks on March 31.

The warrant for Sutton’s arrest claimed a felony, but the reporting stated that his charge was lowered to misdemeanor battery when he was officially charged. Sutton entered a pretrial diversion program on April 17 to resolve his domestic violence case.

Pittsburgh, who Sutton spent his six professional seasons with, signed him to a one-year contract back in June. Sutton’s serving an eight game suspension to open the season before returning to the field with the team he’s had professional success with.
