Tennessee defensive coordinator Tim Banks met with the media on Friday as the Vols quickly approach the one-week countdown to kickoff.
The Vols are about to move into a game-week schedule with the UT Chattanooga game on the horizon, but the team is still practicing while players also balance their first week of classes this week.
Banks gave a broad rundown of his defense before moving answering some more specific questions. The Vols’ DC spoke about players in Tennessee’s secondary such as Boo Carter and Christian Harrison at the STAR position, his view of Tennessee’s offense and Nico Iamaleava’s production, the deepest linebacker unit he’s had at Tennessee, and much more.
In addition to Banks, Tennessee also had a trio of defensive players speak to the media on Friday. The Vols sent out veteran linebacker Keenan Pili, transfer cornerback Jalen McMurray, and transfer safety Jakobe Thomas.
