Four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny is announcing his college decision on Friday and is down to a top two that includes Florida State and Tennessee.
Konanbanny ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 302 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Columbia native ranks as the No. 4 player in the state of South Carolina and the No. 28 cornerback nationally in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The blue-chip recruit was born in France and lived in London for part of his life before moving to the United States in 2022, Konanbanny plays his prep ball for Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia. Konanbanny grew up playing soccer and has also had success running track at the prep level. While Konanbanny is an elite athlete, he is still relatively new to football which makes him an exciting prospect with his potential development.

Konanbanny took official visits to Florida State, LSU, North Carolina, Tennessee and Utah before cutting his list to just the Vols and the Seminoles in July.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback has taken five total visits to Tennessee including four in the last year. Konanbanny took an unofficial visit to Tennessee for the Georgia game last November before taking three total visits earlier this year. Konanbanny’s May official visit to Florida State is the only time he’s been to Tallahassee for recruiting purposes.
Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 23 commits including from three cornerbacks— three-stars Tre Poteat, Dylan Lewis and Tyler Redmond. The Vols have one four-star safety committed but the four other defensive back commits are all three stars. Adding Konanbanny would be a big win for Tennessee’s defensive back recruiting class.
The Vols’ 23-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 6 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings. Landing Konanbanny would boost Tennessee’s recruiting class to No. 5 nationally and No. 4 in the SEC.
