Tennessee special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach Mike Ekeler brought the energy to the media room during his press conference on Saturday morning.
Ekeler met with the media on Saturday after the Vols’ 13th practice of the fall camp slate. Tennessee was heard practicing with loud road environment noise during Saturday’s workout on the outdoor field as they barrel towards the season just two weeks away.
Ekeler spoke about Tennessee’s vast competition in the specialists room including kicker, kick returner, and punt returner. The Vols’ veteran coach gave some insight into who is going through that competition and who has caught his eye through the first 11 practices and two scrimmages.
In addition to Ekeler, Tennessee also had a pair of specialists speak with punter Jackson Ross and long snapper Matthew Salansky. The Vols also had a pair of defensive linemen in Tyre West and Jayson Jenkins speak with the media after practice on Saturday.
