The SEC boasts many of the best stadiums and environments in all of college football. SEC Network show Marty and McGee is releasing a new episode on Tuesday night with part of the episode being about what stadium in the conference is the loudest.
Ryan McGee, a Tennessee alum, shared a clip from the show on his X account ahead of the episode’s release and it includes South Carolina coach Shane Beamer saying Neyland Stadium is the loudest venue in the conference and detailing the Gamecocks loss in Knoxville last season.
“When we went to Knoxville this past season on a Saturday night and we had obviously beaten them the year before,” Beamer said. “They’re honoring the 25th anniversary of the ’98 National Championship team the same night, Hendon Hooker was back in town. Pretty loud.”

Tennessee football knocked off South Carolina 41-20 last season at Neyland Stadium, bouncing back from its loss in Columbia the season before. The Gamecocks ended Tennessee’s College Football Playoff hopes with an upset victory in 2022 and the Vols responded with an emphatic victory.

Tennessee football does not face South Carolina this season in the first year of the expanded, 16-team SEC. Still, the Vols have an incredibly important home schedule with conference matchups against Florida, Alabama, Kentucky and Mississippi State.
The Vols have been stout on Shields-Watkins Field at Neyland Stadium under head coach Josh Heupel. Entering Heupel’s fourth season as head coach, Tennessee is 18-4 at home including a 13-1 record at home over the last two seasons including wins over Florida, Alabama and Texas A&M.
Tennessee opens up Josh Heupel’s fourth season as head coach against Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium on Aug. 31. Kickoff is at 12:45 p.m. ET and the SEC Network is broadcasting the game.
