Four-star Chattanooga running back Shekai Mills-Knight released his top five including Tennessee football on Tuesday morning and announced his imminent commitment ate.
Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Ole Miss joined the Vols in the top group for the blue-chip running back. Mills-Knight is announcing his commitment this Saturday, Aug. 17.

Mills-Knight ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 252 player in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Chattanooga native also ranks as the No. 17 running back in the 2025 recruiting cycle and the No. 6 player in the state of Tennessee.
A standout at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Mills-Knight helped lead the Red Raiders to a 10-3 record and a loss in the Division II-AAA State Championship game.

Mills-Knight has taken two total visits to Tennessee in 2024 including an unofficial visit in April and an official visit in June. The blue-chip recruit has taken more visits to Ole Miss than any other school including five in 2024 and two more in 2023.
According to both the 247sports crystal ball and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ole Miss is the favorite to land the four-star running back.
Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 21 commitments but none of them are from running backs. The Vols signed one running back in the 2024 recruiting cycle— four-star Peyton Lewis. Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders is also announcing his commitment on Saturday and Tennessee is viewed as one of the top contenders.
The Vols’ 2025 recruiting class currently ranks No. 8 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
