New level of competition and there’s still no signs of former Tennessee star Christian Moore slowing down. After spending his first two professional games in High-A, the Los Angeles Angels promoted Moore to Double-A Rocket City.

In his first full week in Double-A, Moore turned in absolutely ridiculous numbers. The star infielder hit .550 with four home runs and six RBIs while posting an absolutely absurd 1.741 OPS. Those numbers were good enough for Moore to earn Southern League Player of the Week honors.

Now in six total games with the Trash Pandas, Moore is hitting 13-for-24 (.542) with five home runs and seven RBIs. In eight total professional games, the former Tennessee star is hitting .543 with six home runs, two doubles and 13 RBIs.

Included in Moore’s six professional home runs was a walk-off home run last Friday night as he continues to come through in big moments.

Moore turned in the best single season at the plate in Tennessee history during the Vols’ 2024 National Championship season. Hitting in the leadoff spot, Moore hitt .375 with 34 home runs, 55 extra-base hits and 74 RBIs.

Tennessee’s previous single season home run record was 24 and Moore way out paced it in his junior season. Moore’s 61 home runs over the course of his three-year college career make him the Vols’ career home run record holder.

The Angels selected Moore with the eighth pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, making the star infielder the highest drafted Volunteer of Tony Vitello’s tenure.
