Four-star class of 2026 tight end Carson Sneed committed to Tennessee football over a top group that included Auburn, Louisville, Ohio State and Ole Miss.
Sneed is a rising junior at Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville and is the younger brother of Tennessee redshirt freshman receiver Dayton Sneed.
The younger Sneed ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 174 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. A 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end, Sneed also ranks as the No. 5 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 8 tight end in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Sneed choosing Tennessee is not surprising not only because of his brother being on the team but also because of how frequently he’s visited Tennessee’s campus. The blue-chip recruit has taken four total visits to Tennessee including two in recent months.

He took one visit to Auburn, Louisville, Ohio State and Ole Miss each with all four visits coming in the past year.
At this time last week, Tennessee didn’t have a single commit in the 2026 recruiting class. Now they have a pair of top 150 commits. Five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon became the Vols’ first commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle on Saturday afternoon, choosing Tennessee over Alabama, LSU and North Carolina State.
Tennessee and tight end coach Alec Abeln are on a tear on the recruiting trail. The Vols flipped highly touted tight end Da’Saahn Brame from Oregon two weeks ago, marking their second blue-chip tight end in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Vols are also top contenders for five-star tight end Kendre Harrison in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Landing Sneed bolsters Tennessee football’s 2026 recruiting class from No. 26 nationally and No. 11 in the SEC to No. 13 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
