Tennessee hit the practice field on Sunday morning for their fourth practice of the fall camp slate.

The Vols were back in helmets and shoulder pads for a second straight day as they practiced with Gospel music blaring in the background – fitting for a Sunday morning practice, after all.

With rain once again in the area and the fields wet (I feel like a broken record as I type that), Tennessee was limited to indoor work during the period the media was able to watch. The Vols did go outside following the media viewing portion, though. Josh Heupel’s group started out in routine with warm-ups and conditioning before moving to individual position work and joint-position work. The wide receivers and the quarterbacks ran routes on air, the offensive and defensive linemen split up into one-on-one battles, and the defensive backs worked on formations and zone concepts.

While spirits were high on the field, Tennessee is dealing with a major injury here in the early days of camp. Tennessee junior defensive back Jourdan Thomas is out for the season with a right knee injury on Saturday, according to On3’s VolQuest and confirmed to Rocky Top Insider.
